Kolbey's First Holy Communion - St. John Vianney - 2007

I remember my first holy communion.  This was big.  Accepting Jesus Christ in my life.  True was the story and blessed was the sentiment.  I was eight years old as was my son yesterday. I would bet dollar against doughnut,  he wanted only to know what the host would taste like and what about the wine?  Regardless,  another passage of time was held yesterday.  It was emotional for me. I miss my father daily.  Now I stand as the proud father watching my son become one with Jesus Christ. It was a great day and one filled with an initial welcomed surprise when we learned Bishop Magrath would be conducting the  ceremony this day.  He was supurb a true advocate of  devotion and foremost kept the  children entertained and involved.

The ceremony was filled with levity and a wonderful sense of peace.  Kolbeys Nino and Nina were there. Marlo Debbie, Joseph, Jessica and Jordan have always have been a large part of Kolbeys life. After the ceremony we headed to the country club to celebrate.  Father Paul came by and blessed Kolbeys gifts.  He said a pre-meal blessing and dined at our table.  We shared the event with the Parson's and Redigan's.  Debbie, Mary and Stacie coordinated the event beautifully. Family, friends and close relatives enjoyed the afternoon.
