A wonderful tribute to Armando  - June 17th, 2006

"Well dad............what do you want to do? Dad would always say,  "What's plan B?  - It was pretty obvious that dad's time on this side was going to be short.  " I guess I want to see my family" dad said.  And so it was.  June 17th, 2006.  Stacie, Mom, Cristina and I threw dad a party.  What a day.

Not only did family attend; his brothers Oscar Hector and Mundo came as well as his Sisters Patti and Licha. My Aunt Terry as well as friends from generations showed up to say hello to dad and celebrate his 78 birthday. I have never felt so rich in all of my life.

Cousins came from all over the country.  This was a true celebration of life.  One, two, three, four generations. My friends, my sisters friends,  more importantly, my dads friends.  Kids went swimming, everybody ate.

I was most proud of my mom and my sister for helping put things all together.  My great friend Michael bailey flew in to help me.  I can't explain how that felt.

My wife, my kids, my wifes family, all were there to support dad.  It was an incredible day and for that I thank the entire extended  family.

Dad ate birthday cake, some food, fruit, watched the U.S.Open and the world Cup at the same time.  he visited with family and he spoke to friends.  It was a wonderful celebration. I was happy for the day yet selfishly very sad for the reason.

Dad died eleven days later at 3:30 in the afternoon June 28th, 2006.  He left behind a loving ex-wife, Celia, a daughter, Cristina and me, his son, Ernesto.

More importantly dad, Armando Morales Moreno left behind a legacy that will never end. Through his teachings, writings, stories,  generations will come to know my father for his passion to tell his and other peoples stories.

Thanks Dad.

Michael and Megan Shea have always loved my dad.  I am so greatful to have the Shea Family in my life.

(Dad and Michael Shea.)

(The Coronel, Tato, Thor, Lisa and Trip.)

First and Second Cousins.

Brother, Dad gave us many wonderful memories throughout our lives. He definitely showed us how to live, but I believe the best memory that I will carry with me always is how to die. Funny how that may sound, but Dad ended his days here on earth with a strength and grace that I hope I can copy! L

Hello Ernie, this is Patrick. The first time I remember meeting your dad was the "chocolate Easter Bunny day." One thing that stuck in my mind was his love for sports. He seemed like he would be a great coach. I am sure you're happy and proud to have him as a father. Happy to see your site up!
